  • Test electronics and gadgets to ensure they work properly
  • For vehicles, take a test drive and check all documents
  • Ask for original receipts or warranty cards when available

Use Safe Payment Methods

  • Prefer cash-on-delivery or in-person cash transactions
  • Never send advance payments to unknown sellers
  • Use UPI or bank transfer only after verifying the seller
  • Avoid sharing your bank account or credit card details

Spot and Avoid Scams

  • Be wary of deals that seem too good to be true
  • Don't click on suspicious links sent via chat or SMS
  • Never share OTPs, passwords, or personal banking information
  • Watch out for sellers who pressure you to pay quickly

Communicate Safely

  • Use the in-app chat or WhatsApp for initial communication
  • Avoid sharing your home address until necessary
  • Be cautious with sellers who refuse to share their phone number
  • Keep a record of all conversations

Protect Your Personal Information

  • Never share Aadhaar, PAN, or other ID documents with strangers
  • Don't share login credentials of any account
  • Use a strong password for your 1800 account
  • Log out from shared or public devices

Verify the Seller or Buyer

  • Check the user's profile, ratings, and member-since date
  • Ask for additional photos or videos of the product
  • Verify vehicle registration and ownership documents
  • For high-value items, verify the seller's identity

Report Suspicious Activity

  • Use the 'Report Ad' button if you find a suspicious listing
  • Report users who ask for advance payments or personal details
